Anyone with kids ages 8-13 into Axe body sprays?

RATE: 19
Hi Everyone,
This isn't a traditional blog post - just a notification.
I was contacted today by a producer at CBS News who'd read my latest Axe piece.  He's doing a story about Axe and similar body sprays being used by young kids (ages 8-13) and is interested in speaking to families who have this particular issue going on.  My Axe-addict is too old for his needs and my younger two can't stand the stuff so I wasn't able to help him.
If anyone is interested in talking to him, message me and I'll give you his contact info or I can pass your info along to him.
This is not a joke.  It's 100% legit.
 Have a great day,
 Lisa

Thank God that my 12 year old is smart enough to not drag that crap home... Of course I think it may have been my comments regarding it leaving one smelling like they had died after spending a week in a brothel that did it but I can't be sure.
You should age the axe boy down to under thirteen and take their money!
Our middle son got into some. It's still in the wallpaper. We sold the house. (r)
Awww, I wanted to see you interviewed on the news.
This reminds me of when my nephew discovered men's cologne in his adolescent years. He was fond of one called Hawk, which I promptly renamed Buzzard.
I have an entire class of 7th graders who seem to be addicted - I had to make my classroom an Axe free zone.
I have a don't Axe don't tell policy.
Which goes on to say you never know who reads you.
My kid's thirteen and he only uses it if I buy it. If not he's
perfectly happy with plain Ivory soap.
And here I thought you were going to get rich and famous.
I'm sorry but I'm laughing - did you ever think it would come to this?!!!
This is a perfect example that we have no idea who is reading our stuff. :)
The worst thing is when you smell it on a 32 year old man.
The stuff works okay as a carburetor cleaner, if you can get by the stench.
My 12 year-old didn't care care much about this kind of thing, so I took the proactive approach and actually encouraged him to wear a good quality cologne--just a couple of brief sprays every morning before school. The idea was to get him used to the good stuff so that he won't be wooed by ads and trends with crappy stuff.

So far it's been working great. He's gotten compliments from a couple of girls at school, making him feel incredibly shy but very happy at the same time.
I read about this in the NY Times....many of the boys said that since they couldn't afford nice clothes to impress the girls, they would use the Axe scent.
We know it's ridiculous, but to a ten year old boy, this might make sense (or scents.)
Wow, I made it through my age 19 twin boys growing up, axe spray free. Not saying anything about the axe shower gel...okay?
How fun for you?! (The producer, not the Axe!) I wonder what other excitement lies in wait...
Ha! Just yesterday, I could smell it on my 8 year old. He denied, denied, denied. Yeah, whatever, I said to him. Then, as I'm leaving, he sprays it (sneakily/secretly) in my path to the door. Axe rained down upon my head and clothes in a hideous stench. I haven't forgiven him yet. He had a good laugh though.
One more thing that makes me happy to be old - and to have had my kids a long, long time ago.
OMG that stuff is nasty, my nephew and his dorm mates are hooked on the crap. I want to wear a respirator when we pick him up for term breaks!
I just read your older post about Axe, all this time, I thought the cats were peeing in the car, it was the Axe
I don't think I've ever smelled Axe, and based on what you've written about it, I'm glad. It would have been fun to be on the news, though.
Rated - cuz I'm a fan.
As I've said...our 11 yr old LOVES Axe bodywash and the deodorant but currently hasn't moved up to the hardcore bodysprays...why an 11 yr old boy, whose only smelly body part tends to be his feet, thinks he needs deodorant is beyond me. Have to say, his father feeds his addiction and health class at school was his gateway. Can't wait to see the stories that come out of this!
my son's too old as well -- 15 -- but he does layer it on. tho i think he's branched out a bit; i see more bottles in various shapes and colors. i hold my breath as i'm driving his ass to school. ugh.
This is so funny. cindy capitani and others, driving their reeking kids - mine - the youngest is turning 30 - weren't allowed to eat Doritos in the car because I couldn't stand the smell. Though I've never smelled Axe, it would have them walking I'm certain!
Hey, Girlfriend, I'm seriously impressed a producer at CBS News read your Axe piece. How cool is that?!
This is one of those times I'm so happy to be childless.
My can is low and I am off to buy another........maybe it's all the beans we eat here?
Dont have any kids yet, wouldnt be good as i am 13, but all of my guy friends use Axe. Its not all that bad, but I've had to get used to it.
I was going to delete this post since it was merely informational, but you all have left such funny comments, I'm going to leave it up. :) Thank you, everyone, for stopping by and sharing your stories.
